I graduated from Columbus College of Art & Design with a BFA in 2014. I live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband Jeff and our beloved greyhounds Cody and Remi.
Those who know me understand that I'm a dog rescuer above all other things in life. Greyhounds have always been my breed of choice, which started many moons ago when I lived next to a greyhound track in Memphis, Tennessee.
Meet Maggie aka "Magnolia Sunshine", a former racer from Florida.
She was my third adopted greyhound and my source of true love, inspiration and happiness. As those who came before her, she changed my perspective about many things in life. She taught me patience, unconditional love and how to be a very good judge of character.
I went through art school in my mid-thirties with Maggie by my side. She spent every long night in my studio with me and enjoyed warm sunny days laying on the back deck. She protected me from outsiders, consoled me when all things seemed lost, gave the very best hugs and was a bridesmaid at my wedding. She was by far my most devoted friend.
On 11/24/2019, I lost Maggie to cancer. While we were only together for eight years, I feel fortunate to have shared a part of my life with her. It's often said that greyhounds should feel lucky because we rescued them, but honestly, she rescued me.
When it was time to build a website to house all of my pieces, I decided to dedicate this space to her. I named it Magnolia Sunshine or Mag-Sun for short, so she will always be a part of my future.
Thank you, Mags, for every tiny minute that we shared together.
I'll love you forever.
